Fair Set-up:
As a reminder, the 2024 fair is hybrid. All projects, EXCEPT ROBOTICS, will be filmed and judged in advance.
The day of the in-person tech fair (Friday, March 1, 2024) the Robotics competition and the Tech Test will be conducted in-person. Students will also eat lunch in the JSU dining hall and receive their awards.
For Robotics: All equipment needed, such as computers, monitors, cables, multi-outlet power strips, extension cords, etc. must be furnished by the contestants. In addition, all software used in the project must be loaded for demonstration by the contestants. It is suggested that back-up, executable copies of the completed projects be brought. Students and schools are responsible for the safety and security of their equipment and software, not the fair host. Students must be able to bring in their own equipment and set it up on tables (or the floor) furnished by the fair host. Students may also bring in robotics arenas if necessary. Only one electrical outlet will be provided per computer set-up. Please bring extension cords and multi-outlet power strips as needed.
All students must be able to find their project(s) on their computers, bring them up, and run them for judges at the time of competition. If needed, students must be able to start their computers from a “cold boot-up” or restart scenario. Students must be able to independently run/execute all programs of the robots.
This event will be held Friday, March 1, 2024. We are happy to be in the Leone Cole Auditorium this year, which is located on the Trustee Street Circle running through the heart of campus.
