The 2024 Region 4 Technology fair will be hybrid this year. Students (except for Robotics) will film their projects and submit them for judging in advance. Winners will be announced at the in-person fair on Friday, March 1, at which time students can take the technology test, compete in Robotics, eat lunch in the JSU dining hall, and attend the awards ceremony. The top two winners per category, per level will advance to the state competition in April. The state competition is in-person at this time, but will pivot to virtual if necessary.

The committee is working this week to nail down a date for our regional fair. Some of the counties we will host has changed. We now host Calhoun, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Randolph, and Talladega. The other counties will be notified by the state ACTE rep to let you know where your new fair will be held. We have exciting new categories. Rubrics and notebook requirements will be uploaded as soon as they are released by the state. We look forward to the fair this year!

Exciting news! After 22 years of organizing and hosting the East Central fair here at Jacksonville State University, Applied Engineering is passing the torch to the School of Education. Applied Engineering's schedule has become filled with more and more robotics competitions and so that they can focus more on that aspect of their passion, we here at the School of Education have jumped at the chance to take over! We want to thank Terry Marbut, Kathy Matthews, Teje Sult and all the others in Applied Engineering for the outstanding job they've done over the years. This competition is so very important to us all and we at the School of Education are overjoyed to have the opportunity to continue to host the event here at JSU.
